Case 1 · Chief Operating Officer, PE-backed industrial manufacturer
Executive trackGoal: the top operating seat
Three competing COO offers in seven weeks
- The gap
- Fifteen years running complex operations, written as a list of responsibilities. The resume read as a strong operator, and gave no sign of a candidate for the top operating seat. Scope was invisible and no decision was foregrounded.
- The work
- A 60 to 90 minute deep-dive drew out the transformation story buried in the role history. We rebuilt the document around four owned decisions, with the P&L and the integration record made legible in the first scan.
- The outcome
- Three competing COO offers within seven weeks. He took the one with the clearest value-creation mandate.
Case 2 · Chief Executive Officer, financial services
Executive trackGoal: from function head to CEO
A $1.9M CEO package with two competing offers
- The gap
- A CHRO moving to CEO. Strong record, and the resume argued for the seat she was leaving. It read as a functional leader.
- The work
- We repositioned the narrative from "head of function" to "enterprise leader who happens to have come up through people." The operating P&L she had quietly carried became the spine of the argument.
- The outcome
- A $1.9M CEO package, with two competing offers on the table during the negotiation.
Case 3 · Board Director and Chairman, multiple PE-backed boards
Board trackGoal: from operator to chair
PE operating partner to two chairman seats
- The gap
- An exceptional operating track record, written as an operating resume, which is the wrong document for a board seat. He was qualified and unfindable.
- The work
- We rebuilt from an operator narrative to a governance one: a board bio that argues judgment under constraint, committee readiness, and the specific value he brings to a board.
- The outcome
- Two chairman seats, plus a retained advisory role, within the year.
Case 4 · Board Director, Series D technology company
Board trackGoal: from founder to board director
A unicorn board seat and a $250M close in the same week
- The gap
- A serial founder with an extraordinary track record, and nothing that read as board-ready. The founder story and the governance story were tangled together on one page.
- The work
- We built a separate board profile alongside the executive resume, so each document did one job. The board profile argued governance contribution; the resume argued operating scale.
- The outcome
- Accepted a unicorn board seat the same week a $250M round closed.
All four were private-client engagements.
